I can only say that when I received my first sail (2A Assymetrical chute) I was very impressed. The materials and workmanship were superior to North's. However the performance was a whole other eye opener: I felt like I was cheating. The sail had 80% of the combined range of Norths 1A, 2A and 3A and was very fast. It could reach higher and run lower (and faster) in the intended wind ranges. The sail was also easier to trim. Since then I have purchased a 1A, 4A and staysail. The 1A and staysail have been great. The 1A is as amazing as the 2A. The staysail came as a recommendation by Evo and greatly assists the sailing performance of the boat. I have not yet had much time with the 4A but am sure it will not disappoint.

The original reason I went to Evo was due to price, 60% of what North wanted. What I received was excellent quality, performance, service.....and cost. I sail on the Great Lakes in the states and my salesman has always been Rodney Keenan from New Zealand. He has been on my boat twice as much as the North reps which are 2 hours away. Aside from that I think that there is much more to take on Evo. As it pertains to Rodney, and Greame (in the US) I would say that they are very passionate sailors first and then sail makers. They race on and assist in developing the fastest, highest performing boats: Vincitore, General Lee, Beau Geste to name just a few. This passion is reflected in the sails they provide since they want to see their customers excel at their passion as well. Evolution Sails was the exclusive sail source for the 52 ft Vincitore. In 2010 Vincitore won 2 Rolex BBS, the Chicago Mac, to name a few.

I haven't purchased any laminate sails from them yet but have no reason not to when the need arises. I know that this reads like a miracle sail maker, but its all true. So if you're in the market for quality, performance, and cost, you'll do yourself a favor by giving Evolution Sails a chance.
